Welcome to DateTrade

Please take a minute to read the following safety tips.

WARNING: MEETING SOMEONE ONLINE MAY BE DANGEROUS.  We do not run background checks on any of our members.  There may be DateTrade members who have a criminal history, possibly even sex offenders.  There have been numerous cases where victims of heinous crimes have met their perpetrator online.  Please be safe and aware of the fact that WE DO NOT RUN CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON OUR MEMBERS.

  1. Don't share your bank or credit card information with people you meet online.
  2. Don't send money to strangers you meet online or to someone who claims to be in an emergency. Wire transfers are especially risky as wiring money is like sending cash; the sender has no protections against loss. Scammers often insist that people wire money, especially overseas, because it’s nearly impossible to reverse the transaction or trace the money.
  3. Don't share personal information such as SSN, address or phone number.
  4. When meeting someone for the first time, always meet in a public, populated place. And stay in a public place for the duration of your time together.
  5. Inform friends and family members where you're going and when you'll be there.
  6. Stay sober. Don't do anything that could impair your judgement.
  7. Be responsible for your own transportation to and from the first meeting. Drive yourself, get a ride from a friend or take public transportation. Don't get in a car with someone you're meeting for the first time.
  8. Don't leave personal items unattended. You don't want to risk having personal information or belongings stolen. If you are drinking, keep your drink with you at all times, so it can't be tampered with.
  9. If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts. End the date. Leave.
